Key Won't Turn in the Ignition?
A stuck ignition usually starts small: the key needs a wiggle, then a jiggle, then one day it won’t turn at all. YH Lock & Security repairs and replaces ignition cylinders in Las Vegas where the car is parked, so you don’t need a tow to the dealership.
Our automotive locksmiths work on most domestic and import vehicles. We diagnose whether the problem is the key, the cylinder or something that needs a mechanic, and tell you before any work starts.

The key turns only with force or at a certain angle. The key goes in but won’t turn, or won’t come out. The steering wheel is locked and won’t release. The key broke off inside the ignition. The cylinder spins freely after a theft attempt.
Often the real problem is a worn key rather than the cylinder. In that case a new key cut to the original code fixes it. If the cylinder is damaged, we rebuild or replace it and match it to your existing door key where possible.
Ignition problems are common on older vehicles that have spent years in the Las Vegas heat, and on cars with a heavy key ring hanging from the key. The weight wears the cylinder over time. Taking extra keys off the ring is a simple way to make an ignition last longer.
Vehicles with push-to-start ignitions don’t use a key cylinder, but the smart key still has to be recognized. If the car won’t detect your key, we can test it and program a replacement.

Ignition Work and New Keys in One Visit
After replacing a cylinder we cut keys to match, and program transponder keys when needed. If you also need a spare, ask about car key duplication. Lost keys altogether? See car key replacement.
Call (702) 840-1465 and describe what the key is doing. We’ll tell you what to expect.
After a theft attempt, the ignition may turn without a key or not turn at all. We replace the damaged cylinder and can check the door locks, which are often damaged too. Keep the police report number handy if you plan to file an insurance claim.
